Away From Home

I have been away for a couple of days as I have had some family commitments.  Luckily, I had prepared the ‘Wordless Wednesday’ post on the weekend so it was ready to go.

I don’t have anything particular to share but I have noticed recently that everywhere I turn there seems to be discussion about excess stuff and decluttering.  Is it just me or have you noticed the same?

2015-05-28 01For ‘Flashback Friday’ I will find one of my previous posts on decluttering and living with less.  In the meantime please share your thoughts.  Have you decluttered?  Do you wish you could?  Is there any particular aspect you would like me to write about and discuss?

  1. I am one of those people who seem to be permanently trying to declutter, with limited success.
The aspect that I find most hard is the fact that I’ve already spent the money on an item and it seems wasteful to get rid of it. It’s obviously easier to get rid of surplus stuff, but I can only manage mine by just not buying any more and using what I have over time.

  2. Decluttering is a constant effort, but having let go of the idea that it has to be a ‘battle’, I find it much easier. Little and often, aiming for ‘a place for everything and everything in its place’, without beating myself up that it never reaches that ideal, is working for me. After all, we _live_ here, and we use stuff, so inevitably there will be some clutter.

But that bathroom doesn’t look like your pictures of yours at home. Is that a hotel, with home-from-home stuff in it? Or is it a public domain picture?
